my little roundround world (:

Almost forgot that i have went MacRitchie a few weeks ago with my parents. I just realised that i took some photos there when i'm arranging my photos.
At first, daddy wans to go to the tree top walk, and we didnt check out the place properly so we assume it muz be somewhere accessible in MacRitchie and we can get there in time. Suddenly mummy said she forgot to buy 4D that day then we had to wait for her to buy 4D. And becos its the week of the Grand (dunno how many million) Toto Draw, the queue at Singapore Pools was DAMN LONG! Omg, dunno if we can still reach Tree Top walk in time.

So when we reached MacRitchie, we stupidly followed the arrows pointing the direction of the HSBC Tree Top walk. Although it wrote 5KM, we still followed anyway, thinking that 5KM is not very long (if u are now imagining walking from Orchard to ps?).

So we started walking on the boardwalk along Mac Reservoir.

Daddy, being environmentally friendly, was complaining why the National Parks Board did not employ sweepers to sweep the dead leaves on the boardwalk to the sides - apparently, he thought that this will reduce the amount of decomposition in the forest floor and results in lower soil nutrients (o.O)". So he pick up a tree branch which was found along the board walk and started sweeping the leaves on the boardwalk to the sides. NPB will love him. Haha.. And it is really a coincidence that the tree branch shaped like a broom. dots..

At some point along the boardwalk we see A LOT of MONKEYS! My parents keep saying very cute! Seriously i'm damn scared after all the lecturers said about how they attack humans. But daddy managed to take a photo of it. Nvm my lousy zoom which look so blur.

Alright. Other than monkeys, we saw a lot of squirrels too. I saw them so many times and wanted to take a photo of them but they simply run TOO FAST! This photo was the best that i can take.

So after walking to the end of the boardwalk, it was connected to a trail into the forest. Assuming that the forest trail is along the peripheral of MacRitchie Reservoir, we followed blindly. HAHA.. retribution came when we didnt do our homework! We walked for hours and hours and the trail nv seem to end!!! Feeling damn tired, we asked the joggers if there was a way out. They asked us to continue walking until the end and there will be an exit.

Happily knowing that there will be an exit, we walked... and walked.. and walked... until we see Singapore Island Country Club!!! OMG.. looking at the map at the exit, we realised that we've walked more than 8KM up to the yishun direction instead of around the MacRitchie Reservoir. And we haven reach Tree Top Walk yet. But at least we got out of the stupid forest.

Wat's more we have to walk out of Singapore Island Country Club into the main road to look for bus stop (Its a long way again..). I swear nv to walk that route again. Feel so shagged.

And i realised that HSBC Tree Top walk is quite inaccessible. After i went home to check how to get there, u mus get to this car park (which is near Singapore Island Country Club), and then u still muz walk around 2 KM. Damn. To get to that car park, i think i better call for a taxi instead. Cos the bus stop is outside in the main road.

Do you know about the Dating Violence Awareness Week?

It was an event collaborated between PAVe (Centre for Promoting Alternatives to Violence) and Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) from NTU. The awareness week was held between 7 feb to 14 feb.

Dating Violence Awareness Week is the first nationwide campaign against dating violence and targets young Singaporeans aged 17 to 25. Held in the week of Valentine’s Day, activities during DVAW aim to raise awareness on four different aspects of dating violence, including emotional, psychological, sexual and physical abuse.

There is an increasing trend in dating violence reported from seconday school students up to uni level. This event was held with Valentine's day to let more people know about this worrying trend.

They have also come out with a video. (ps. why dun i see it on tv?)

The Straits Times also has a special report on Dating Violence:

Sad to say, I think most people are not aware of abuse happening throughout the world. Because we dun come across it, it doesnt mean that it is not happening. Hope can campaign did help in raising the awareness. (:

Looking at the thick stack of Infectious Disease notes, i feel stressed.

And if u realise, when u write STRESSED backwards, it becomes DESSERTS.

Haha.. so now u got a reason to indulge urselfs in desserts when u are stressed!

93.3 Fm keeps playing this song called 《我不是你想像那麼勇敢》by 梁文音. Its a damn nice and meaningful song (:

Yeah! I finally got a chance to go to the National Museum after its renovation (:

Our Nation Building Tutor showed us around in the museum and explain the Singapore's history to us with patience. Anyway, he's a volunteer there. haha.

The museum was bigger than i thought and the trip was pretty interesting! But i thought that there were not enough exhibits to display. The "companion" that we brought along during the trip was really interesting becos u can listen and read the details of the displays. However, it is only in the english version.

This is my "companion"!

Alright, I was really amazed by this exhibit. It is a TV used in the past! Can u believe it!!!!!! It looks SO COOL! haha..

List of places that I want to visit:
1) The Battle Box @ Fort Canning Park
2) Changi Chapel
3) HSBC Tree Top Walk
4) Asian Civilisation Museum
5) Singapore Art Museum
6) Singapore Philatelic Museum

Anybody interested in the above? We can go for an outing! haha..

Sorry for being childish but i cant stop myself from writing this post.

I'm so sorry that i disgusted you the other day. Initially, I tot that i was hurting you so i felt sorry about it. BUT reading your post once again made me realised that you disgusted me!

Firstly, you also made things public. If you really detest something, why not make it a point to me privately?

Secondly, do you know that its hurting to read such comments? And did you put urself in my shoe too? I'm definitely sure that he doesnt read my blog. But as a fren who's concern, i read your blog. So how do you feel now?

And thirdly, i agree that its really unfortunate that i am cursed too. BUT U did the same thing to me too.

I thought that we can be in good terms in future. BUT u proved me wrong. I'm seriously disappointed and angry.

Thanks for letting me see your true colours too.

OMG! I came home to realise that something stuck in my front teeth the whole afternoon! But nobody tell me.. *sobs* The thing is that i've talked to so many people today. ):

Thanks for the concerns my dears. I'm fine and it's just that sometimes the feeling is stronger than usual and if i dun vent it out, i'm afraid that i cant slp at night. Thank you frens for motivating me to study for my SSA CA. I really almost gave up but your motivation managed to let me read a bit of my notes. haha..

Oh well, its difficult not to remind me of him. Yesterday my field trip to Pasir ris park was not very pleasing. Actually the whole field trip was fun, jus that when my group was walking towards the mangrove near the beach, we walked pass a tower and resting hut along the way and it reminds me of the time when we went there to cycle, rest in the hut, and went up the tower to chit chat. But i was pretty glad that i managed to control my feelings! (ps. EQ finally increase a bit) *jia you*

After the field trip my head was really painful but i need to rush to LT8 for Nation Building CA. Bad timing right? The timing of the field trip and the CA was jus side by side *screams* Anyway, i never expect to do well. haha.. S/U option ROCKS!

I can understand how LKY feels becos we think alike.

We didnt expect "separation" to be the only option to solve the problem.
We thought that there were other ways out but the other party dun.

It was really a "moment of angish", so to speak.

"Separation" left us vulnerable in fighting for our own survival. How can we build ourselves up to be thriving again today?

I'm not dwelling into the past, because the past only serves as a lesson to be learnt. Once, a MP said that "We shall forgive but we shall not forget". I thought that this sort of reflects what i should do.

I wonder why am i doing here at this point of time, especially when i was suppose to study for my nation building CA tmr. But i have totally no mood for it since my mind doesnt wan to cooperate with me.

Things ended half a year ago.. wow.. and it sounds quite long ago. I thought that i'm all happy and cheerful like i used to be. No more hiding-in-the-room-and-cry nights, no more lying to my parents and no more worries on how he feels. I should feel more carefree but it came to my realisation these days that i might still be deceiving myself all along.

Dunno.. its jus a random thought.

And its all mentally taxing.

Maybe through my ES project i can get to know the ways to deal with mental stress.

This is the first time ever that i feel so strongly in giving up on a CA. Seriously, I have forgotten wat things that happen on wat year except the date of Singapore's independence. I think i'm going to smoke my way through tmr. But anyway, I pray for a C to S/U.

My current printer sucks! And the printer ink money is burning a hole in my pocket already! Seriously, who on earth would need to change a new ink catridge once in less than a month's time?

I was so sad when the pirated ink was not on sale, cos its A LOT CHEAPER than the original and the quality was as gd. And currently i'm only left with 1 tuition kid.. omg.. where to find more money when i'm spending like no body's business on either ink or clothes.

Talking about clothes, i realised i buy quite a lot too. Everytime i go out and i see sale, i will buy. Haiz.. and the clothes in my cupboard are piling up higher and higher. OK.. its quite a wasteful form of retail therapy.. but it pretty well works on me (:

I NEED MORE TUITION!

I dun believe that love is everything.

But I believed that nothing is forever.

Feb 14, 2009

First and foremost, HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY to all (:

I believed the gers are busy dating their loved ones.. haha.. oh well.. nvm abt me.

If you are very interested in who I spend my V day with, I spend with my Nation Building readings. HAHA. Its a day for me to love my nation. opps *sound sarcastic* But i nv even finish the readings that i'm supposed to finish today. Slacking my whole day off. ):

Actually, I prefer sch on V day, at least it takes my mind off things that i dun wan to rememb or wat i have done last yr. I seriously hope that there's a service called "Brain-washing"- Add some detergent and 100% alcohol to wash away the pathogens that's colonizing my brain cells. damn. My mother keep asking me if i got go out and of cos i nv. She muz be happy that i'm staying at home. If i really go out, she would think that i go out with that person that she dun like. Watever, she didnt even noe that I hate him more than she did now. Stupid turtle coward idiot bastard tortise elephant ostrich #*(^T(&#^

I went out for a dinner with my parents at nite @ Xing Wang HK cafe. Damn lot of people are queueing and oh well.. they are couples again. Every few metres I walk, I saw people selling flowers at a ridiculous price and anyway, its a time for them to earn more money and a time for the guys to contribute to the deterioriating economy i guess. haha.

And oh well, saw a lot of people carrying flowers and i never even get a bouquet of roses for valentine's day all my life. haha.. sounds quite pathetic right =x And my tenant came home with a bouquet of flowers for her gf. so sweet. But made me sad. But the feeling were not as strong as compared to a few mths ago. Sometimes their presence and sweetness are killing me. Feeding each other with fruits and kind of stuff. Maybe I'm jus jealous or maybe it jus keep reminding me of things i dun wan to rememb.

Anyway like wat jia said, V day was all too commercialised but gers would still like to receive flowers from their bf. And dun be stupid guys, when gers say nvm, they do actually wan to get flowers, but jus saying to help you safe money. =x

By the way, I was really happy that someone didnt sms me happy valentine's day today. At least i assume that this time he cares for my feelings (or maybe he totally forgot abt me.. who noes).

Watever. Life goes on.

A picture speaks a thousand words:

The Peranakan Museum - 39 Armenian St

Mon: 1-7pm, Tue-Sun: 9.30am-7pm (Fri to 9pm)

"Ah Gong! I want to go peranakan museum!"
But actually, the little girl wants to go back to her mama in the peranakan museum.

I like this family photo! So Vintag-y right?

Main Lobby was loaded with students on excursion. It reminds me of my fav time in sch-Excursions!!

Mummy inspecting and was amazed by the embroidery skills of peranakans.

I love these hand-made baby shoes!

Kamcheng. Little Nyonya has this too. The big Kamcheng was used to hold drinking water and these really BIG kamcheng were only afforded by the rich pernankan families.

See anything familiar? Its the word "追远" in Little Nyonya again!

I like this photo.. it looks vintag-y too! But maybe i shld change it to a sepia mode for greater vintag-y effect! haha.. Generally the trip was very rewarding if u have the patience to read the descriptions beside the exhibits. And i learned a lot about the peranakan culture! It somewat reinforces wat i have watched in Little Nyonya (:

Another reason for going to the museum was to look at the new exhibition from QingZhou (Becos daddy was very interested in it). Buddha Sculptures of thousand years old where discovered when constructors were in the means of digging a soccer field. Most of the sculptures were carved out from limestone and the preservation was marvellous. Singapore is the only venue in South East Asia to be exhibiting the QingZhou Discovery. Anyway, no photo was taken from here becos phototaking was prohibited.

After we left, we walk pass the National Museum and this is the first time i saw the building after it was renovated. I shall visit it before the free admission to museums expire this april... and YES! Our Nation Building tutor will be conducting a tour to the National Museum in the recess week and I'm going! YEAH!!

I was reading Straits Times online and came across this article on "900 new biomed jobs" yesterday.

I AM SO GLAD that i might NOT go JOBLESS after i graduate!!!! Yeepee!!

Big pharmaceutical companies like Wyeth, Abbott, GSK Bio, Schering Plough and Perkin Elmer will be creating these jobs and 7 new plants will be set to open in the next 3 years! haha.. There's hope for LIFESCIENCES!! *see a glimpse of light*

I was searching intensively for private tuition assigments and I came across this tuition center website called Joss Sticks. It's moto is "For effective prevention of Last Minute Buddha Foot Hudding Syndrome" aka LMBFH Syndrome.

This website was set up by a private O level Maths tutor called Miss Loi and she was featured on The Sunday Times as one of the SUPER TUTORS. Her website was really interesting and she sound like a young tutor! haha.. There's suggested solutions to O and A level papers too!

Scroll down the page and take a look at her post on "Miss Loi's Wheel of Misfortune" @ http://www.exampaper.com.sg/ ! Enjoy reading! (:

This new year hasnt been a very happy one indeed.

House visits to the grand uncles and realised that illness is catching up with their age. One has stroke and the other one couldnt move himself out of bed. Though i only visit them once a year, they have always been very nice to me. And in just a year's time, both of them has changed so much, from a healthy person to a bed-warded patient.

Scenes like these made me feel heavy hearted. I almost felt like crying but I made a great effort holding back my tears. Seriously, i think my EQ muz be damn low becos i always find it hard to control my emotionals, esp sadness.

And i heard that one of my granduncle is just "waiting for time". I cant help feeling sad after hearing this kind of words. This reminds me of the other granduncle who passed away last year. I cant help crying when i see other ppl cry. I cant help crying when i am afraid of losing someone close. Sometimes i cant help imagining my future, my parents. Wat would happen if something happen to them? Alrights, i have great imagination.

I wonder wat thoughts a person would have nearing his days. This must be pretty sad huh.. like the professor in "Tuesdays with Morrie". Just reading the first 2 chapters made tears rolling in my eyes. damn. I can really put myself in all kinds of stories. Maybe i shall try acting. haha..

CNY eve dinner @ Tiffany cafe

Updates of my cny eve dinner @ Tiffany cafe..

yu sheng!

Both busy smsing~

nice desserts @ Tiffany.

I see no strawberries for the fondue ):

After dinner, we went to walk around chinatown.

Damn LOT of people in Chinatown!!

Our initial plan was to go chinatown for countdown.. and we reached there early so we loiter and walk around for a few hours. Nearing 12, i saw this really cheap bag in the street stalls. After i bought the bag and look at my watch, ITS 12AM already!! As soon as we left the stall, we heard firecrackers crackling away!!!!!!! OMG.. the whole street of people were running towards the stage to watch the firecrackers and fireworks! We were still quite a distance away and couldnt reach there in time. End up we only see smoke.. (o.O)"
On the first day of CNY.. we wore our new shoes! haha
Basically, i saw this everywhere in Singapore. HAHA..
Went to bai bai in Kong Meng Shua. Daddy kept on insisting on taking this "artistic" photo. haha..

After visiting relative's house, we went to "River Hong Bao" near esplanade. This random photo was taken becos i cant see where we were heading and i wanted to see how many people ahead of us. There were SOOOOO many people! Spore is becoming over-populated!!!!

The concept of these statues were pretty interesting.. Its a BIG version of the chinese chess! haha.. The brown colour army is going to attack the silver colour army!

Of course, not forgetting the main character in River Hong Bao - Cai Shen Ye!!

And to read my zodiac for the year! It said that rabbits need to exercise more in the coming year to stay healthy.
