A picture speaks a thousand words:

The Peranakan Museum - 39 Armenian St

Mon: 1-7pm, Tue-Sun: 9.30am-7pm (Fri to 9pm)

"Ah Gong! I want to go peranakan museum!"
But actually, the little girl wants to go back to her mama in the peranakan museum.

I like this family photo! So Vintag-y right?

Main Lobby was loaded with students on excursion. It reminds me of my fav time in sch-Excursions!!

Mummy inspecting and was amazed by the embroidery skills of peranakans.

I love these hand-made baby shoes!

Kamcheng. Little Nyonya has this too. The big Kamcheng was used to hold drinking water and these really BIG kamcheng were only afforded by the rich pernankan families.

See anything familiar? Its the word "追远" in Little Nyonya again!

I like this photo.. it looks vintag-y too! But maybe i shld change it to a sepia mode for greater vintag-y effect! haha.. Generally the trip was very rewarding if u have the patience to read the descriptions beside the exhibits. And i learned a lot about the peranakan culture! It somewat reinforces wat i have watched in Little Nyonya (:

Another reason for going to the museum was to look at the new exhibition from QingZhou (Becos daddy was very interested in it). Buddha Sculptures of thousand years old where discovered when constructors were in the means of digging a soccer field. Most of the sculptures were carved out from limestone and the preservation was marvellous. Singapore is the only venue in South East Asia to be exhibiting the QingZhou Discovery. Anyway, no photo was taken from here becos phototaking was prohibited.

After we left, we walk pass the National Museum and this is the first time i saw the building after it was renovated. I shall visit it before the free admission to museums expire this april... and YES! Our Nation Building tutor will be conducting a tour to the National Museum in the recess week and I'm going! YEAH!!
